Kevin Jakub, Principal
Biography
In August 2021, Mr. Jakub began his current role as Principal at Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School after serving as an Assistant Principal in the building during the previous two years. Prior to becoming a member of the BBHHS team, Mr. Jakub served as a building Principal at Buckeye High School in Medina and Independence Middle School. He also previously served as an Assistant Principal at Bay Middle School. Mr. Jakub spent his first year in school administration as an Administrative Intern at Normandy High School in Parma, where he began his education career as a U.S. Government and Advanced Economics teacher. An alumnus of Normandy High School, Mr. Jakub was inspired to become an educator by the strong example of his former science teacher, Mr. Comer, who set high standards and demonstrated compassion for students. As both an educator and school administrator, Mr. Jakub has a passion for working with kids and creating opportunities for them to succeed.
Mr. Jakub earned a Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership and completed the Principal’s Licensure program at Bowling Green State University. He also has completed the Superintendent Licensure Program at Cleveland State University. Mr. Jakub attended Ohio University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Integrated Social Studies. In addition to his educational career, Mr. Jakub serves as the Leadership Chair of the Northeast Ohio Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s Student of the Year program.
