Transportation

BRECKSVILLE-BROADVIEW HEIGHTS CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT TRANSPORTATION

Our goal is to transport each and every one of our students to and from school safely and efficiently.  Our drivers go through a great deal of training, both classroom and driving to obtain and maintain their Commercial Driver’s License. Our buses are kept in great condition and are subjected to detailed inspections throughout the year by the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The Transportation Department employs 50 people which includes bus drivers, bus aides, mechanics and office staff. We transport over 2500 students on 215 routes and travel over 3593 miles a day.   We ask for your help and support as parents to achieve our goal.

Transportation OPT-IN for BBHHS Students and Private School Students '23-'24 School Year

The BBHCSD is kindly requesting that High School students OPT-IN and students who attend private schools register for their transportation needs for the 2023-2024 school year. Below parents and students will find two respective links that provide a short survey of your needs for next year. The district asks you to complete these survey registrations before July 30, 2023. Thank you for your assistance in making our transportation routing as streamlined as possible.

Please feel free to contact the BBHCSD Transportation Department with any questions. Thank you for your support.

HERE COMES THE BUS APP

Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District is pleased to connect and protect our families with real-time bus tracking and arrival alerts by offering the Here Comes the Bus app. The app can be downloaded on a mobile device in the app store and allows families to know via push notifications and email when the bus is approaching the designated stop or has entered the neighborhood depending on the selected settings.   The app is available free in the app store and Google Play.  If you don’t have a smartphone or tablet, you can still reap the benefits of Here Comes the Bus via their website on a laptop or desktop computer.
Use of the app is meant as an additional tool to assist parents in planning their morning routines; however, students will still be required to be at their bus stop at least five minutes prior to their assigned pickup time and wait in their driver designated place of safety.

Sign Up Instructions for Parents:
1.    Download Here Comes the Bus app
2.    Click the “Sign Up” button
3.    Enter school code 29129 and click “Next” followed by “Confirm”
4.    Complete the “User Profile” box

6.    Once you confirm your information, you’re ready to begin.

Bus Rider Safety Tips

How to Get On and Off the School Bus Safely

The Danger Zone:  The Danger Zone is the area immediately around the school bus.  This is the MOST DANGEROUS area.

Students who cross the street will be given instructions by their driver to keep them out of the Danger Zone.  All students will be given a place of safety – for both crossers and non-crossers.  Students are to wait at their designated Place of Safety before the bus arrives and when they get off the bus until it leaves.
