Semester/Final Exam Schedule

Semester/final exams will be administered on January 16, 17 & 18, 2018.  Please click on the Exam Permission Form and complete both sections and return the form to the main office.  Students may not leave campus without this form on file. Please note that CVCC students will need to plan ahead to miss their program on January 17th.  CVCC is aware of the schedule.     

National Honor Society Inducts 117 New Members
     Frank Zhu, President of BBHHS Chapter of National Honor Society, presided over the 73rd Induction of new members on Friday, Dec. 8th.  Congratulations to the 117 new members, including 10 seniors and 107 juniors.  Every student in NHS is expected to uphold the ideals of excellent character, scholarship, leadership and service.  Our school will continue to work hard to give students opportunities to develop these tenents which are important assets in their personal and professional development. Quill and Scroll Honor Society Induction

Congratulations to the students inducted into the Quill and Scroll International Honor Society, which recognizes excellence in journalism.  Students from both the Hybreeze and Yearbook were honored at the Induction Wednesday afternoon. Congratulations to Avery Diedrick, Marina DiFranco, Lauren Hall, Owen Han, Bryce Hasman, Esha Kallam, Nate Kehoe, Vicki Meng, Serina Murphy, Liz Paoletta, Raima Puri, Nate Robusto, Natalie Sternad, Amy Szmik, and Frank Zhu!  

HOBY Sophomore Selection
  The Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation (HOBY) exists to help motivate, train, and reward future leaders by preparing them for leadership positions in their schools and by developing the talents that will serve them in the future.  Congratulations to the following students who were named finalists pictured left to right: Ian Stewart, Trevelyan Smith, Zachary Ravagnani,  Mia Zivkovic, Kate Schwenn and Nicole FlorsNicole was selected as the HOBY Representative, while Ian Stewart was selected as alternate.  Kate Schwenn and Sara Louttit attended the Key Leader Conference.    
Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Wins Momentum Award
Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School was recently honored with The Momentum Award from the Ohio’s State Board of Education, a recognition given to school districts for their work on the State Report Card during the 2016-2017 School Year.

Alumni Association Inducts Six Into the Gallery of Achievement

October 6th was a special day on our campus as the Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Alumni Association inducted 6 new members to the Gallery of Achievement, which celebrates distinguished alumni and former faculty who have displayed outstanding community service, personal development, and accomplishment in their profession. Our freshmen and juniors were invited to the program. It was a great reminder of the wonderful legacy our school has with a rich tradition of excellence and high achievement. The inductees will be recognized at tonight’s game between the first and second quarters. Bronze placques were dedicated in the main lobby where they join the fifty other recipients.

National Merit Scholars Recognized

Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School is proud to recognize the achievement of 15 members of the class of 2018 who have been named as semifinalists or commended students in this year’s National Merit Scholarship Competition.

State Recognition for Art Educator
  Congratulations to Ashley Rowland, HS Art teacher, who recently won 2nd place in The State of the Arts, a juried exhibition that features art educators from all over Ohio. Her sculpture, “Remnant” was made with latex paint skin, plexiglass and adhesive. The sculpture is currently on display at Ohio University.  
Parking Permit Applications
Parking permit applications are now available for 2017-18. Every vehicle must have a permit to park on campus for safety and security. Click on "Read More" for the parking permit applications for Junior, Senior and Honors lot.

New Pay-to-Particpate Student Fees for 2017-18

The Board of Education approved reduced Pay-To-Particpate Fees for high school and middle school students at its May meeting. The Board announced the proposed lower fees last month contingent upon the passage of the May 2 operating levy.

The fees, which cover transportation and personnel costs for all athletic and extra curricular activities, will be reduced from 100% to 50% for each student activity, based upon current costs. Additionally, the cap for these fees has been reduced from $1,000 annually per high school student to $500, and from $600 to $300 annually for each middle school student. Online School Fees/Lunch Payments
Parents now have the opportunity to pay student fees online using a credit card or debit card. This includes school fees, athletic and extracurricular fees, as well as lunch fees.

Thanks to the work of our CAPA program and State Representative Marlene Anielski, our district now has it's own license plate available at oplates.com.  
Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory Grade Option
The “S/U” option is the opportunity given to a junior or senior to select one (1) unit of credit or less in non-required subjects for credit each year in which the grade will be either “Satisfactory” or “Unsatisfactory”. 
Class of 2018 Senior Portrait Information
Senior portrait information is available at PrestigePortraitsOhio.com. Senior portraits are included in the yearbook and for the Class of 2018 composite picture which will hang in the hallway of the high school. Please make an appointment before December 31, 2017.
