Hilton School was opened in 1967 and is situated on a 28.9 acres. The building has 50,000 square feet and twenty-five learning stations. It also has three courtyards. Hilton is the newest of the three elementary buildings. The first principal was Mr. Carl Hager (1967-1980). Next was Ms. Linda Huntley (1980-1983), and she was followed by Philip Hastings (1983-1985). The fourth principal was Mr. Nick Carpas (1985-1992) and Mr. Herb Bradford served as building principal from 1992-1997. Sandra Hendricks was principal from 1997 to 2008. Dr. David S. Martin served as principal from 2008-2018. Hilton's current principal is Mr. Christopher Hartland.
In the spring of 1994, the school was recognized as an OAESA Hall of Fame School, one of ten schools statewide identified as offering an exemplary instructional program for children. This honor was awarded by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators. Hilton is the only school in Brecksville-Broadview Heights to have been granted this coveted award.
After nearly three years of planning and hard work, the Hilton PSO, with the assistance of a number of local organizations, businesses, and dedicated community members, built a new playground. Opening the new playground in late May of 2015 was an exciting time for Hilton. Much energy and effort went into fundraising, planning, designing, and constructing the new playground for the students. All the Hilton children now have a playground where “All kids are stronger when they play together!” Instrumental in completing the playground project was Claudine Kirschner, Janelle Henning, and the Hilton Playground Committee. The new playground has something for everyone: A fly spinner, shade, spider web climber, omni-spinner, slides, swings, monkey bars, and a zip line.
