BBHMS students with Mr. Auble in support of Kuttin' it for Kick It'

On Monday, June 12th, a fun and meaningful celebration took place among Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School students, staff and PSO members, as the yearly Kick-It celebration was held  as a fun but significant way of raising funds to fight pediatric cancer. With specifically made Kick-It tee shirts, middle school students enthusiastically moved about the Middle School campus, from the parking lots to field areas near the middle school to participate in a variety of fun activities and events. Some of those included a chalk drawings and specific exercises activities for children and adults alike. At lunchtime, a parking-lot full of food trucks descended onto the Middle School campus as well. In addition to the actual Kick-It celebration, students were invited during the last month of school to donate 8" of their hair or receive a buzz cut in support of Children With Hair Loss, which helps pediatric cancer patients. Two local businesses, Carlo's Barbershop and Chatterbox Hair Salon, donated their time and talents on Monday, June 5th to cut the hair of participating students and adults. Altogether, a total of $685 was collected in donations to appropriately support those in need.  A special thank you goes out to Maria Schneider for spearheading the annual Kick-It celebration, the PSO for their support, and everyone who plays a part in recognizing this most worthy cause.
