BBHES PSO-Sponsored Events Prompt Excitement, Fun, and Learning!

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Elementary School PSO has been actively engaging students over the last several weeks, prompting their creativity, skills, and talents to shine with opportunities outside of the classroom. On April 19th, Elementary School 5th grade students demonstrated their talents at our annual 5th Grade Variety Show. Participants showcased their vocal talents, played instruments, danced, and even performed acrobatics. Thank you to the MS stage crew for their assistance and to the parent volunteers that coordinated the event. Recently, on Friday, April 26th, our first graders were treated to a GLOW lunch for raising the most money in our coin wars, a fundraiser the Elementary School PSO hosts in order to help accommodate the book wish lists of our teachers. Thank you to everyone who participated! Finally, on Saturday 4/27, the elementary school PSO hosted a Spring Celebration that included our spring book fair, cultural art demonstrations, displayed art, and our first chalk fest. The book fair is always a popular event for our students. Students were able to highlight their artistic talents either in the form of displayed art or by performing. We had dancers, musicians, and even some stand-up routines. With favorable weather, students and parents participated in a chalk fest, during which the back lot was transformed into a canvass of artistic and creative chalk-drawings and sketches. The BBHCSD commends our PSO organization for constructively engaging our students with thoughtful and fun activities so that the talents and treasures of our students can be showcased. Great job to all!
