The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Speech and Debate team delivered an impressive performance at the recent State Speech and Debate Tournament by placing 17th out of eighty-four schools and featured several outstanding individual performances. Special recognition goes to Shashini Mohan who was named State Champion in the Original Oratory event! Several other team members are deserving of recognition for their advancement to qualifying rounds, including Quarter Finalists Alex Yeh (International Extemp) and Swarika Totapally (Dramatic Interpretation); Semi Finalists Aksh Dantal (Congressional Debate ), Nakshatra Mohan (Congressional Debate), and Colette Sarli-Freeman (Congressional Debate); as well as State Tournament Finalist Hamsika Totapally who earned 5th place in Original Oratory. Through a superb team effort, the Talking Bees earned the noteworthy designation as a School of Excellence in Rhetoric. Congratulations once again to our Talking Bees Speech and Debate Team and Coach Kaylan Bass on another successful season!
