The impressive talent, poise, and dedication of students in the BBHHS Music Program was on display during a series of outstanding performances at the Smoky Mountain Music Festival in Gatlinburg, TN on April 12, 2024. The prestigious music festival featured seventeen choirs, eleven instrumental ensembles, three marching bands, and a winter guard representing eight different states.
BBHHS was proudly represented as the school’s Music Program and took home numerous performance awards and recognitions. First-place finishes included the Orchestra in the AA Orchestra division and the Chamber Choir with a Superior rating in the Chamber Choir category. The Marching Band earned first place in the large marching band division after its spirited parade performance through downtown Gatlinburg. The Concert Band earned second place with a Superior rating in the Class AA Band division, and the Treble Choir came in second place with a Superior rating in the Women’s Choir division. The Symphonic Choir was the runner-up in the Class AA Choir division.
Certificates of Excellence were also awarded to the cello section, flute section, alto sax section, trombone section, baritone section, and percussionist Dawson Still.
