BBHHS Recognizes Veterans with Heroes of the Hive
Heroes of the Hive display

On Thursday, November 9th, Lieutenant Colonel Toth, a Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School alumnus from the Class of ‘84, visited BBHHS and shared his military career experience. Lieutenant Colonel Toth served as an Army Airborne Ranger and in the U.S. Army for 30 years and has since worked in a private role supporting the training and management of ROTC programs across the nation.

Lieutenant Colonel Toth shared his experiences as a veteran and connected his message back to his time as a student in the BBHCSD. He emphasized to students the importance of dedication and perseverance, and the district was proud to have him share with our second and third-period Social Studies courses how his experiences as a student in the BBHCSD helped prepare him for his rich military career. Thank you to Mr. Backo and Mr. Drypolcher for planning this event.

In addition to the Veterans Day presentation by Lieutenant Colonel Toth, the High School unveiled the new dedicated space in the Main Lobby of BBHHS titled Heroes of the Hive. This space will be a permanent area in the halls of the high school that recognizes those alumni, faculty, and community members who have served our nation in the armed forces.

A huge thank you to Ms. Sarah Ignatz-Hoover, Mr. Kowatch, and Mr. Goubeaux for their work on the Heroes of the Hive. An even more special thank you to current BBHHS faculty members Mr. Mark Fields (Navy), Mr. Greg Roderick (Army), and Mr. Tony Firrugia (Army)for their service to our nation.
