Bees Wrestling Delivers Standout Performances at OHSAA State Tournament

The Bees Wrestling program concluded an impressive season with a series of standout individual and team performances at the 2023 OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. A school record thirteen student-athletes qualified for the state tournament, including Anna Madi, Rylan Seacrist, Brock Herman, Luke Vanadia, Max Vanadia, Kaden Jett, Jace Jett, Evan Rizzo, Brett Stanley, Chase Pluhar, David Zambounis, Riley McPherson, and Caden Pluhar.

Brock Herman won the state title in the 144 lbs. weight class and was named the Outstanding Wrestler of the Ohio 2023 State Tournament, the first BBHHS athlete to earn the award!


Bees freshman Anna Madi made history as the first female wrestler in BBHHS history to become a state qualifier, placer, and finalist, finishing in second place!


Altogether, the Bees had a third-place overall team finish and proudly featured a school record nine state place winners & four finalists listed below:

175 Luke Vanadia 3rd

Nationally, the Bees ended the 2023 season as the #16 High School wrestling team in the U.S. State Tournament.
