BBHCSD Congratulates Wrestling Team’s Outstanding Team and Individual Performance!
The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools would like to formally congratulate the Boys Wrestling program for the outstanding season-long performance which culminated in the pinnacle achievement of finishing as OHSAA State Tournament Runner Up this past weekend. This highly impressive team accomplishment comes as a result of the outstanding individual performances of many wrestlers. Leading the way for our Bees Wrestlers was Victor Voinovich (152lbs.), who won his second OHSAA state championship, finishing a high school career as a 4-time state qualifier and setting a school record by becoming the first undefeated state champion in school history. Sophomore Brock Herman (126lbs.), a 2-time state qualifier, took second place overall in the state tournament, along with classmate Kaden Jett (120lbs.), a two-time state qualifier, who finished third overall.   Freshman Kael Voinovich (145lbs.) placed third overall this past weekend as well, while senior Anthony Rizzo (182 lbs.), a 3-time state qualifier, finished in 6th place overall.   Sophomores Max Vanadia (185lbs.) placed 6th overall this weekend as well and Luke Vanadia (170lbs.), who placed 7th overall. Senior Nick Campbell (160lbs.) finished 8th in the state tournament overall. Senior Ben Vanadia (220lbs.), was a four-time state qualifier, James Bronstrup (138lbs.) was a three-time state qualifier, and Manny Scordos (132lbs.) all combined to elevate this season’s Wrestling team into the record books, as 11 qualifiers from BBHHS worked hard all year long to earn their way to the OHSAA State Wrestling championships. Congratulations to these wrestlers, their families, Coach Todd Haverdill and the entire coaching staff for such a successful season. Go Bees!
