Progress Continues at New PreK-5 Elementary School
The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools community has unquestionably observed the progress being made on the District’s new PreK-5 facility in passing through, and past, the Blossom Hill property over the last several months. Recent milestones during the winter months have included final beam placement of the external structure which accompanied a brief gathering and picture opportunity for District officials who witnessed ironworkers hoisting the commemorative beam into place.

In addition to the external beams being placed, structural steel detailing continues throughout the internal aspects of the structure, including welding of supports and angles at designed windows openings. Progress is intended to continue on studs and internal wall formations on areas of the 2nd floor in the next several weeks as well. The metal portion of the Learning Stairs has been installed as well as the Kindergarten and 1st grade stairs section of the building. Once the weather breaks, concrete 2nd floor slabs will be installed on the metal deck.  Exterior metal studs have begun to form the inner shell of actual classrooms. Atop the Kitchen, Dining and Music area, roofing progress continues to be made, and the speed with which this process continues will only accelerate as outside temperatures rise and warm. The mechanical trades craftsmen continue overhead and in-wall rough-in of electrical and ductwork in these areas continue as well. On the Blossom Hill Fieldhouse, the exterior siding continues to be installed. Please see the nearby pictures to observe the progress being made. With each passing day, more excitement continues to be generated!
