The District will be providing two distinct learning opportunities to supplement educational experiences for BBHCSD students over the summer months as described below:
- Enrichment Opportunities (lasting two weeks in duration) for students in grades 1-12, to occur Monday through Friday, beginning June 21st through Friday, July 2nd, from 9:00a.m. until 12:00p.m. Such Enrichment opportunities will likely include a variety of subject areas such as art, music, S.T.E.M. and more.
- Intensive Intervention (lasting two weeks in duration) for students qualifying as academically at-risk in grades 1-12, to occur Monday through Friday, beginning August 2nd through Friday, August 13th. Intervention will focus on reading, writing and math.
Additionally, and as in the past, Extended School Year (ESY) opportunities will be provided for students with special needs requiring related services due to disabilities beyond the regular 180-day school year.
- Extended School Year - June 21st through July 1st and again from July 12th until July 23rd, running Mondays through Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Each student’s IEP team determines the final decision about providing ESY services by looking at data gathered regarding the student’s performance over the 2020-2021 school year.
As the District approaches the final few months of the 2020-2021 school year, more information will be shared with our entire BBHCSD family regarding how to take advantage of these intervention and enrichment opportunities over the summer.
