Red Oak Behavioral Health
We are happy to announce that our district has partnered with Red Oak Behavioral Health. Red Oak has been providing behavioral health services to the Greater Akron Community through therapy and case management services since 1963. In 1998, Red Oak started a pilot project designed to address behavioral health challenges in the classroom related to the children's diagnosed mental illness in the Akron Public Schools. Red Oak currently has embedded therapists and case managers in over 90 school buildings across 14 school districts and operates an outpatient center in Highland Square that provides therapy and psychiatric services for both children and adults.

We have added this service to our district for this year. We have two amazing staff members that will provide mental health support to your children. Jordon Sampson and Dylana Gut are our Health and Wellness Coordinators that will be providing these crucial services to our students. Jordon will be working at our three elementary buildings and Dylana will be at the Middle and High School.

Both Jordon and Dylana will provide group and individual services to students that enhance their emotional well-being and improve their social and emotional functioning in their academic environment. In addition, they will assist school staff by providing positive behavioral and classroom supports, and consulting with teachers, parents, or administrators as indicated.

Many students have probably seen them in the hallways introducing themselves. As they embed these services into the day-to-day activities of your students, please feel free to reach out to them. If you have any questions or would like to learn more about the services Red Oak provides, please contact Ann Robson, Clinical Director at Red Oak, at 330-996-4600 or [email protected].
