Blue Ribbon Committee

Congratulations to the staff, students and families of Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle for being named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education. Officially informed earlier this week, BBHMS joins only 349 school districts nationwide for earning such a prestigious honor. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program is recognizing BBHMS along with other public and private elementary, middle, and high schools due to visible achievement, very high learning standards and notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. Since 1982, the U. S. Department of Education has sought out and celebrated great American schools. The National Blue Ribbon School award affirms the hard work of students, educators, families, and communities in creating safe and welcoming schools where students master challenging content. Two representatives from Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School will travel to Washington, DC on November 7th and 8th to receive a plaque and flag as symbols of its achievement. Additional celebrations are being planned at the building level as well, to commemorate this honor. The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools congratulates the Middle School for earning such a significant national honor in being named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School.
