BBHCSD Community Participates in Educational Visioning Session for New Elementary School
Visioning Session 1

Over fifty members of the BBHCSD community, including parents, teachers, administrators, elected officials, including Brecksville Mayor Jerry Hruby and Broadview Heights Mayor Sam Alai, community members and students attended an Educational Visioning Session on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the Brecksville Community Center.  The purpose of the meeting was to provide a structured, collaborative format for participants to share ideas and feedback related to the future design of the brand new, state-of-the-art elementary school.  Staff members from ThenDesign Architecture (TDA) facilitated the various visioning activities, which included identifying areas of success and challenges related to the design of the current elementary buildings.  Participants also saw a media-rich presentation showing examples of TDA designed classroom and building spaces from across the state of Ohio that promote a student-centered learning environment.  The conclusion of the visioning session provided participants the opportunity to not only list goals for the various spaces in the new building but place post-it notes on a site map to show how they envision the future layout.  Overall, the program was a dynamic and collaborative effort involving every facet of the BBHCSD community.  The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools would like to thank everyone who participated in the Educational Visioning Session for their contributions and continued support of our students.
