Pancake Breakfast and Musical Performances Celebrate Music in Our Schools Month
The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools Music Department is holding its Sixth Annual Music in Our Schools Pancake Breakfast. This 4-hour, extravaganza is a fundraiser with a variety of activities. Details of the event are:
When: Saturday, March 21, 2020, 8am-12pm
Where: BBH High School Cafeteria (6380 Mill Rd., Broadview Hts., 44147)
What: Musical performances by musical groups and ensembles representing grades 1-12 (starting at 8am), raffles, vendors, activities, and of course, pancake and sausage breakfast with beverages!
Cost: Large breakfast-$10, Small breakfast-$5
Who: Everyone and anyone is invited! Students, siblings, parents, grandparents, teachers, neighbors, friends, families – from within Brecksville and Broadview Hts. and communities afar!

According to Melanie Sipusic, Middle School Choir Director, and Scott Hanna, Middle School Band Director, “This event has been a huge success these past 5 years. Music has the power to improve academic performance, bring joy, and empower young people! We hope that the whole community will come out for breakfast and enjoy all the festivities to celebrate and support our local music programs.”
Funds raised at the Pancake Breakfast will be used to support a variety of programs and activities including updating and renovating the middle school auditorium.
March is designated as Music in Our Schools Month (MIOSM) sponsored by the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). MIOSM highlights the importance of quality music education programs in our nation’s schools. This raised awareness involves educators, students, administrators, parents and community members to find ways to celebrate creative music activities and advocacy.
