Chippewa Elementary School Celebrates Earth Week with Educational Activities
WKYC Weather

The week of Monday, April 30th and Friday, May 4, 2018 is “Earth Week” at Chippewa Elementary School, and a variety of instructional and fun learning opportunities have been planned. Already this week, a naturalist from the Brecksville Metroparks visited students to discuss the natural environment and share some constructive projects that help to benefit our local wildlife. An emphasis was placed on identifying animals commonly found in Ohio, and how to preserve and protect the planet Earth. The building PSO has spearheaded various environment-related activities such as encouraging the students to make bird feeders and plant seedlings as well. In advance of Earth Week, WKYC-Channel 3 Meteorologist Michael Estime graciously visited Chippewa Elementary School to help discuss weather patterns, general science and our climate. All in all, a very important week is underway at Chippewa, where students are being exposed to crafts and activities that can benefit a lifetime of love and respect for our environment.
