Highland Parents Memorialize Friendship with Street Sign Dedication
Brecksville Chicks with Superintendent Magyar

A group of eleven Highland parents celebrated their long-time friendship with the naming of Brecksville Chicks Lane at the entrance to the BBHCSD Board of Education on Friday, August 17, 2018.  The sign’s namesake comes from a playful nickname used by the parents to refer to their close friendship, which began six years ago when each of their respective daughters began attending Highland Drive Elementary.  What initially began as a text chain regarding upcoming school events blossomed into a special bond that continues to this day.  The parent group includes Shelley Roth, Ruth Schneider, Denise Beach, Pam Daiker -Middaugh, Suzanne Brown, Madalynn Wendland, Ann Koepke, Amy Ference, Jill Lahrmer, Jill Mansfield and Janet Popielski.   The street re-naming is made possible through an ongoing fundraising campaign by the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools Foundation.  Members of the community who make a donation are provided the opportunity to place a bid for the rights to name the street sign for a period of twelve months.  The BBHCSD would like to thank the Highland Drive parents lists above, aka the ‘Brecksville Chicks,’ for their support of the BBHSF.
