The Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Class of 2020
was recognized with a series of memorable celebrations on Saturday, June 13th,
2020, which included a community-wide parade and special In-Car Commencement
Ceremony. Beginning at 11:40 AM, the Cleveland Metroparks Mounted Police Unit
led a festive parade of over 300 vehicles featuring graduates and their
families, safety services from the Cities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights,
and Ohio National Guard from the Broadview Heights City Hall. The vehicles of
BBHCSD families displayed a colorful display of balloons, streamers, homemade signs,
and other decorations for each individual graduate. As the parade traveled
through downtown Brecksville and concluded at Brecksville-Broadview Heights
High School, members of both communities lined the sidewalk to clap, wave and
congratulate the graduates.
Upon arrival at the parking lot between the Middle School and BBHHS,
family vehicles were directed to park in front of a stage that was accompanied
by three large screens. During the special In-Car Commencement Ceremony,
students and families watched live speeches by Superintendent Magyar, and the
Class of 2020 Valedictorian and Salutatorian, in addition to a video
compilation of the graduation ceremony, taped between May 11th and May 18th.
At the conclusion of the video ceremony, diplomas were distributed curbside in
front of the high school auditorium entrance and behind the high school
building.
Thank you to the mayors, city officials, and first responders
from the Cities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights for their tremendous
support in planning and executing the community-wide parade and In-Car
Ceremony. Finally, congratulations to the BBHHS Class of 2020 and best wishes
in all your future pursuits!
