“Kick-It” Battles Kids Cancer Despite COVID-19

Springtime at Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School means a school united in raising funds for pediatric cancer research.  “Kick-It with the Bees 2020” marks the event’s 11th year.  It will honor the memory of Brent Ramer and is dedicated to three BBHCSD senior student cancer survivors: Ricky Pobega, Lauren Ramer, and Sylvia Stibley.

Led by health and life skills teacher, Maria Ganim Schneider, the campaign has raised approximately $30,000 per year, through lemonade stands, car washes, teacher dunk tanks, head shaving events, T-shirt sales and online donations.  Students, teachers, administrators, parents, and community members join fundraising forces to support their classmates and battle cancer together.  This year’s event will be virtual, with lots of ways to participate:  online bingo, Happy Pack donations, “Kuttin’ it for Kick It,” and the traditional T-shirt sale.  Students are encouraged to have at-home family kick ball games since they cannot be in school. How can you help?  . Please consider joining the BBHCSD in supporting Kick It this year!
