IMPORTANT ATTENDANCE INFORMATION...

We would like to remind all of our families that attendance and participation are required for students who are participating in online learning every day and for off-site learning days for our students in the hybrid learning model. Online students are expected to be present and participate in assignments and activities every day. Hybrid students are expected to “check-in” every day during off-site days and complete the off site learning assignments as well.

Our hybrid students do have flexibility in scheduling and completing their off-site assignments, but do need to “check-in” every day during their off-site learning days.

Please note that if your child will be absent for any of the approved reasons found in the handbook, whether they are scheduled to be in school, working online, or during off-site learning days, please be sure to contact the main office to report your child’s absence.

ZOOM SESSION EXPECTATIONS...A REVIEW...

Students are expected to attend all of their zoom sessions.
Students are expected to arrive on time for all zoom meetings to ensure that they do not miss any instruction. This is a courtesy to others and allows teachers to take attendance.
Students should have a designated "workplace" at home that is quiet and free from distractions (siblings, pets, television, video games, etc.)
Students should remain on mute to keep out background noise. If a student would like to share an answer or ask a question, they should click the "raise hand" button.
Students should keep their video setting on during meetings. This will help to maintain their focus. This helps to create more of a classroom environment. The teacher will be able to see if a student is looking confused or uncertain and can provide additional support at that time.
Students should remain seated and attentive to the teacher during zoom sessions.

HEADING INTO THE WINTER MONTHS...

Each child should be sent to school with the thought that outdoor activity is part of the daily program. Students are expected to participate in outdoor recess unless excused by a physician with a written note from the parent. If children need to stay in more than two days, then a note or fax from the child’s doctor is required. It is imperative that warm clothing such as gloves, hats, and boots be worn during cold weather months.

Please be reminded that if your child is not feeling well, please keep him/her home. Cold and flu season is upon us. Use the district’s decision-making guidelines when any symptom arises. We want to continue to provide the safest learning environment possible for our students. Your help is appreciated.

THANKSGIVING BREAK...

The Thanksgiving Break will begin on Monday, November 23. There is no school for students on Monday, November 23, or Students will return to school on Monday, November 30. Enjoy the Thanksgiving holiday with family members.

Happy Thanksgiving from the entire Chippewa staff!
