Central School’s Garden Team About Autumn Plantings During Recess

Central School in BBHCSD has taken hands-on gardening with members from the community to an entirely new level, with its student-based Garden Team. During a recent recess in late September, student members from the Garden Team passed on running and playing to learn more about seasonal plantings such as coleus cuttings and milkweed pod collecting from devoted members from the community. As a true learning and growth experience, students even referenced journal entries, that have recorded notes on what selections to plant during various times of the year. The ideal recent weather has also helped to promote this valuable educational opportunity for Central School students, that has transcended the four walls of a traditional classroom.
