Sophomore James Carson Performs with the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra
Congratulations to BBHHS Sophomore James Carson , who had the distinct opportunity to perform with the Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra after being named the winner of the 2025 Schumacher Competition! This prestigious recognition is awarded to only one young performer each year. James displayed his breathtaking musicianship on the piano with a remarkable performance of Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Minor during separate performances in Westlake on May 3rd and at Cleveland State University on May 4, 2025. The Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestra has a long-standing tradition of supporting young musicians by offering them the opportunity to perform as a soloist with the orchestra.
A member of the BBHHS Honors Chamber Orchestra and an active participant in various musical productions since entering BBHHS last fall, James will now prepare to highlight his musical talents at the legendary Carnegie Hall in New York City in June 2025. Congratulations, James, on your outstanding accomplishment, and best wishes in your continued musical pursuits!
