Shark Tank Activity Provides Creative Learning Experience for Fifth Grade Students

On Monday, June 1, 2026, fifth-grade ELA/Social Studies classes taught by Mrs. Sierleja participated in a presentation featuring a format similar to the popular television show, Shark Tank. The student presentations were the culmination of their economics unit and involved them pitching unique products to parents, staff, and community members, serving as King and Queen Bees. The product presentations featured a slogan, business card, logo, capital, consumable expenses, and proposed investment amount. Each King and Queen Bee then had the opportunity to ask follow-up questions and pitch their best investment offer. Thank you to our King and Queen Bee investors, who included Mr. Michael Berlin, Superintendent Jeffrey Harrison, Mr. Kurt Keller, Mr. Dean Pontikos, Ms. Sara Taylor, and Mr. Larry Zajac. Congratulations to our fifth-grade students for demonstrating creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking skills!
