Progress Continues on Campus Improvements

The BBHCSD continues to make noteworthy progress on several key infrastructure improvements throughout the district campus, and important updates are below. Hilton Drive saw the first signs of pavement being poured recently, and with sidewalks and curbs already installed, this project is certain to enhance traffic flow and safety. Pavement markings, traffic signage, and landscape will follow pavement completion. Currently, the open-for-use date is tentatively scheduled for August 10th. An important ODOT-created traffic pattern video will be included in forthcoming principal newsletters for Middle School and High School families to review.

The main drive of BBHMS, along with student drop-off/pick-up areas, is also being repaved. BBHCSD families will see a new and resurfaced Stadium Drive as well as the S-curve up to the High School. Parking lots and markings will take place in early August.

Newly installed stadium turf will open for full use very soon, and participants in fall activities will have an outstanding new surface on which they can compete for the upcoming season.

Those passing by the Tennis Courts will note that asphalt has been poured and fencing around the perimeter has been installed as well. Specialized tennis court surfacing is up next, and practice is expected to tentatively begin in early August.

The roof above the girls locker rooms has been completely removed and replaced, while the LED lighting upgrades continue as well. Selective ceiling demolition has given way to the installation of a new ceiling grid and tile, which is now completed. New LED light fixtures are being installed and will continue until the project is complete. Please note that the project will continue into the school year, however, will not impact the day-to-day activities of the school. One fun fact shared by Facilities and Safety Coordinator Brian Koss is that a total of 1,788 fixtures will be transitioned to LED once the project is complete.
