Partnership with Fork Farms Brings Learning to Life at BBHMS

An exciting new partnership between Fork Farms and BBHMS is providing students with the opportunity to study, grow, and enjoy hydroponic produce. Eighth-grade science class students recently transplanted Green Star Lettuce seedlings into a brand new Flex Farm hydroponic growing system provided by Fork Farms. The hands-on learning activity provided students with the ability to apply classroom concepts in a real-world setting. The vertical hydroponic garden features a fully self-contained water system and energy-efficient LED light tower while taking up minimal space in the classroom. In less than one month, the fresh and healthy greens will be ready to harvest and be served as part of the school lunch program!
