Construction Improvements Underway During Summer Months on BBHCSD Campus

Construction upgrades and enhancements continue throughout the summer months, and while students and staff are away, significant progress will be made in preparation for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. The information below will share an update of some of those most visible upgrades for the community. Thank you for your continued support. 

The new Hilton Drive project (pictured above) is visible to those who pass through campus. As of mid-June, light pole bases are installed and light poles are being set in place. Storm and sanitary sewer work is completed. The existing pavilion at the stadium will be demolished soon. Concrete curbs and sidewalk work is starting and pavement work will follow. Funds for this project come from the remaining dollars saved from the construction of Brecksville-Broadview Heights Elementary School combined with the sale of the former Chippewa and Highland Elementary School properties.

The tennis court reconstruction project is underway, with demolition initiated late last month. The drainage reconstruction has been completed and anticipated is the City’s final inspection. Asphalt is tentatively scheduled for later this month, prompting a curing period before specialized tennis court surfacing can be installed. BBHCSD will continue sharing updates on this project as they develop.

The High School stadium’s turf replacement project is experiencing an overhaul as well, with the complete removal of the old turf surface and site preparations for the new turf. The new surface will be installed soon and completion of the total project is expected by the Fourth of July later this summer. Thank you for respecting the construction project and continuing to refrain from using the track during the installation. 

At Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School, an expansive LED Lighting project is also taking place this summer, with selective ceiling demolition underway. Every interior and exterior light fixture will be transitioned to LED lighting, providing energy savings, reduced maintenance costs, improved lighting quality, and supporting the District's sustainability efforts. 

Several other infrastructure and facility improvement projects are also taking place throughout the District this summer. The roofing project at BBHMS and audio/visual upgrades in the BBHHS Media Center will be starting soon. Asphalt resurfacing and pavement maintenance projects are also slated for July. Beyond these capital improvements, District maintenance and custodial staff are completing numerous summer projects to prepare the facilities for the upcoming school year. These efforts include deep cleaning, floor refinishing, painting, HVAC preventative maintenance, grounds maintenance, playground upkeep, and many other repairs and improvements throughout the District. The football team will also, once again, assist with mulching flower beds and landscaping areas, helping maintain the attractive appearance of our campuses while supporting student programs through their efforts. Together, these projects reflect the District's ongoing commitment to providing safe, clean, and well-maintained learning environments for students, staff, and the community.
