Makerspace Activities

Oh, those elephants!

Students in the Media Center have been working for months to solve our first 1,000 piece puzzle. Congrats to all our students for working so diligently, but especially the girls in Mrs. Cody's second grade class who kept at it to finish our creation!

Emma made her own "Find It!" game!

Students discuss creating finger puppets and how they may or may not use them for Thanksgiving.

Student talks about creating a snake that is friendly enough to crawl around on his arm.

Media Center/Makerspace

Utilizing our Time

The Chippewa Media Center is not just for books anymore.  Students have new options available to them after checking out their library books.  Students can certainly curl up with their books and read, but now there are also dynamic, hands-on activities to choose from that reinforce classroom curriculum via STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) and help students develop their innovative sides along with problem-solving skills and perseverance.

Media Center Tour

As I walk around the Media Center, you will see students piecing puzzles, designing a marble track, coding a mouse to perform a task, and many students creating puppets, musical instruments, and much more.

Police Officers at Play

Even police officers like to get in on the action with the kiddos!
