Young Astronaut Day

     Young Astronaut Day is a STEM outreach event for students in grades 1-12. Every year since 1992, NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland hosts students from grades 1st-12th to compete in hands-on activities related to engineering problem solving. The keynote speaker was Mike Good, a BBH graduate!! He mentioned all the fellow Bees in the group during his presentation! 
     Hilton students enjoyed their experience at Young Astronaut Day. 

Hilton Votes

On November 1,  Hilton Elementary School took part in a nationwide student learning activity, a mock election called Every Kid Votes. All students (Kindergarten-3rd Grade) came to the library to cast their vote for the next President of the United States.

Second Grade Fossil Dig

Organized by our district science coordinator, Michelle Leizman, second graders pretended to be paleontologists as they participated in a fossil dig. The children did a great job finding and identifying real fossils. Each child was able to bring one fossil home to share.

120 Day Project-First Grade

Forces in Motion

Miss Allar's second graders were split into four groups to teach Mrs. Huber's first graders about forces in motion - pushes and pulls. The groups came up with a plan for how to introduce their experiment and then assisted the first graders in completing the activities.
