Teacher Technology Grant Awards

Spring, 2008

Through the 2008 Teacher Technology Grant Program, thirteen proposals were submitted representing 37 teachers and all six schools in the district.

District Technology Team members evaluated each proposal according to the established rubric. Each proposal was evaluated at least five separate times. The scores for each item were averaged, and the totals were calculated from these averages. The top eight of these proposals advanced to the finalist stage. Following presentations by the finalists, five of the proposals were funded.

Of the thirteen proposals received, the average rubric score was 59.82. The highest score was 71.67, and the lowest score was 50.90.

Implementation will begin after spring break, and will continue through the summer. It is hoped that all of the funded projects will be underway by the start of the 2008-2009 school year. The evaluation of these programs will take place in May, 2009.

Applicants whose projects were not funded may consider one of the following options:
  • Visit Grants.Gov to find and apply for federal government grants.
  • Consider this list of technology grant opportunities from Michigan State University.
  • Revise your proposal and submit it as a McGinty Foundation grant.
  • Investigate a Schools Foundation Enrichment Grant or funding from your school's PSO.
