Hilton Staff Promote Fitness and Generosity with “Dress Down” December Initiative
Dress Down December

Over the past several weeks, teachers and staff at Hilton Elementary have promoted health and wellness, as well as giving back to the community through the “Dress Down December” initiative.  Through a donation of $15, teachers and staff can “dress down” by wearing athletic wear or jeans for seventeen days during the month of December.  Many teachers modeled a healthy lifestyle by taking a walk around the center of Hilton before or after school, or during lunchtime. Others gave their students an opportunity to participate in the fun by taking the entire classroom on a short stroll around the school.  Since 2014, the “Dress Down December” initiative has raised thousands of dollars for various philanthropic causes, including building the Hilton Elementary Playground and adopting a family through the Broadview Heights Human Services Department.  Proceeds from 2017 will go towards building a memorial in one of the school’s courtyards in memory of Milla Boland, a former Kindergarten student at Hilton who passed away last year.  Thank you to the teachers and staff at Hilton Elementary for “dressing down” for a great cause this holiday season!
