Brecksville-Broadview Heights Hosts Milestone Tournament, Finishes Strongly in the Process
The Brecksville-Broadview Heights Speech and Debate Team played host to 29 teams and more than 530 students recently, earning an overall team finish of Fifth Place in the process. This tournament marked the single-largest Speech and Debate tournament hosted by the BBHCSD in its history. Strong individual performances were earned by Rajeev Rangaraju, who finished in 1st place in the Big Questions Debate with a 4 and 0 record, Ian Stewart, who finished in 3rd place in Humorous Interpretation, Ian Stewart and Dylan Grosh-Hoy, who finished in 1st place for Duo Interpretation, Christine Rutkowski who placed 4th in Declamation and Gabby Dachtler who notched a 6th place finish. Our Middle School Speech and Debate team was on display with a strong finish as well out of 21 teams, where Rohan Rangaraju and Arjun Sheth who finished in 1st place in the Big Questions Debate with a perfect 4 and 0 record, Arjun Sheth, Grace Dachtler, who finished in 2nd place for Interpretation, Leah Honeycutt and Leif Gajkowski, who finished in 1st place in the Public Forum Debate, Faith Hutchinson and Garret Travers who finished in 2nd place in the Public Forum Debate, Andrew Youssef and William Liu who finished in 3rd place in the Public Forum Debate, Grace Dachtler, who finished in 2nd place for Interpretation, Sam Fairchild who finished in 6th place for the Big Questions Debate and Hana Mazak, who finished in 6th place for Oratory. Special thanks goes out to the Booster organization for helping with food, registration, traffic control and assisting the judges. Congratulations to everyone involved!
