Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Students Artwork on Display

Four creative works of art designed by a handful of Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School students, have recently been posted on display as part of Beachwood Arts Council’s Ileen Kelner’s Juried High School Art Show, an annual celebration of student artists from Northeast Ohio, and being held at the Beachwood Community Center. BBHHS art students, Lana Traum, Lily Moawad, Valerie Painter and Jenan Hasan, have all had their pieces of art on display since the weekend of February 10th, 2019, and will remain on display until the first weekend of March. Lana, Lily, Valerie and Jenan join their peers from two dozen other high schools in and around the area, to have their pieces judged by a panel of local art experts and who become eligible to win one of eight top awards to receive cash prizes. Lana Traum submitted her work entitled, My Green Jacket, a pastel self-portrait while Valerie Painter has had her work, The Freds, an abstract Picasso-esque painting, posted in the competition. Lily Moawad’s photograph, Autumn, captures the details of the changing seasons, emphasizing the colors of the Autumn. Jenan Hasan’s photograph, Drip, Drip is an experimentation in traditional darkroom development. These art students are instructed by Anne Jones and Mary Shaffer. Congratulations to these four BBHHS students and the teachers for publicly representing our District in this creative fashion.
