World Championship Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School Robotics Team
On behalf of everyone in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools community, a triumphant word of congratulations is expressed to the High School Robotics Team for becoming the top overall team in the entire world! With a combined overall record of 51 wins, 16 losses and 2 ties during the VEX Robotics World Championship, which took place in Louisville, Kentucky, this past weekend, this particular group of competitors advanced a record-breaking 4 teams to the playoff bracket, better than any previous Robotics team in school history. Specifically, Team 2011F made it to the finals in their respective division, going on to tie their first finals match and just losing in the next round. Team 2011C earned the Excellence Award, the highest any team can receive, making them the very best among 24,000 teams in the entire world and 580 teams at this particular competition. The High School Robotics team is coached by Craig Kowatch and Ryan Goubeaux. Team members from 2011C include senior Michael Wilson, Juniors Marcus Masecish, Leah Griesmer and Alex Wong and Freshman Dominic Policarpo. The entire District and school family salutes the season-long successes of the High School Robotics team and congratulates them on their hard work and the highest of achievements. Go Bees!
