Dancing Wheels Assembly Demonstrates Power of Dance for Hilton Students
Dancing Wheels Company Performs at Hilton

Hilton Elementary School students learned about the power of dance to unite and celebrate individuals of all ability levels through a fun and powerful presentation by the Dancing Wheels Company on Thursday, November 30, 2017.  Located in Cleveland, Dancing Wheels is a professional dance company that features individuals both with and without disabilities.  Using creative and entertaining dance performances, Dancing Wheels seeks to promote disability awareness around the globe.  During the special assembly, three performers showcased their talents in a wide variety of dance styles.  Students were able to participate as well, learning a fun, animal-themed dance using their arms and upper bodies.  The visit to Hilton Elementary was extra special for Dancing Wheels performer Jake Washabaugh, a BBHCSD graduate and former student of Hilton Principal David Martin. Prior to joining Dancing Wheels in June 2017, Jake attended Mercyhurst University where he received a B.A. in Dance Performance and a B.S. specializing in Early Childhood and Special Education.  The BBHCSD would like to thank the Dancing Wheels Company for teaching our students the importance of inclusion and accepting individuals of all ability levels.
