BBHHS Senior Sylwester Robakowski Earns Rank of Eagle Scout
Sly Robakowski

Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School senior Sylwester Robakowski recently earned the distinguished honor of Eagle Scout, the highest ranking in the Boy Scouts of America. To fulfill the service project requirement, Sylwester, or Sly as he is known by friends, converted Wetmore Trail, a hiking/horse-riding trail located in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park to a more durable and stable turnpike. With the help of family and friends, Sly laid down wood beams (6 inches x 6 inches) spaced five feet apart, along the eighty-foot long trail. After applying a base layer of geofabric and rocks, Sly and the rest of his team added a final layer of trail mix composed of rocks and sand. Once completed, officials from the National Park Service inspected and approved the upgraded Wetmore Trail. Upon graduation, Sly plans on majoring in Mechanical Engineering Technology at The University of Akron. The BBHCSD recognizes Sly Robakowski for demonstrating a high level of leadership and congratulates him on earning the rank of Eagle Scout.
