Instructional, Food Services Update for Week of March 16th
The District has proactively planned the entire week beginning today, March 16th with a variety of updates and important information that families should know.

On Monday, March 16th assignments will begin to be posted in students’ Google Classroom platform for those in Grades 3 through 12, although staff has until Thursday to post our first week’s learning material. Students may begin work on these assignments upon their posting.

=        On Tuesday, March 17th buildings in the District will be opened for staff to gather instructional resources for an extended period of time and so that our food services team can assemble lunches. All buildings will be open from 7 a.m., when custodial staff arrives, until approximately 12 noon.

=        On Wednesday, March 18th buildings will be open for those students who need to retrieve any items left behind after last week’s directive to take school resources home. The buildings will also be open for parents of students with medications for pickup from 8 a.m. until approximately 12 noon.

=        Also, on Wednesday, March 18th “Grab-and-Go” breakfast and lunch will be available for those students wishing to participate. Meals can be picked up curbside at two locations: Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School and Highland Elementary School between 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Students must be present and have their assigned PIN number to receive their meals. Adults and students cannot congregate onsite. For the week of March 18th -20th, three breakfasts and three lunches will be distributed on Wednesday, March 18th. For the remaining weeks of the closure period, pickups will be available on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please Place orders by 7:00 a.m. on Mondays for the forthcoming entire week. For this current week of March 16th please place orders by Wednesday, March 18th no later than 7:00 a.m.

Please click here for the order form and further instructions.

=        On Thursday, March 19th students in Grades 3 through 12 should officially begin their online learning assignments, as this day represents the deadline for posting this first week’s materials. Students should also expect to receive near-daily information from their teachers regarding instructional resources, assignments and other learning materials through their respective Google Classroom emails. Parents of students in grades PreK-2 will have the opportunity to begin accessing instructional materials for their children as well. Look for emails from your children’s teacher. In the meantime, we ask that ALL PRE K-2 parents complete this survey. This information will assist us with future planning.

=        On Friday, March 20th, all buildings will be closed to everyone until further notice.
Please be mindful of these specific days and times, and while circumstances have proven to change from day-to-day, the District will do its best to make your compliance with these opportunities and dates, as smooth as possible.

Finally, and most importantly, while the BBHCSD regards this academic, learning and instructional component as paramount, our District will always be mindful of the importance of, and our responsibility to affirm, the social and emotional well-being of our student body. Please remember to visit our Mental Health Resources Page and view the Important Links to the far right to help ease any anxiety and tips for addressing our children’s stress levels.
