Ohio Governor Closes Schools Across Ohio for Three Weeks
In a press conference earlier today, Governor Mike DeWine issued a statewide order to close all public, private and charter schools in the State of Ohio, for a three-week period of time, effective 3:30 p.m. on Monday, March 16th. According to news reports, the Governor will continue to review this order during this timeframe. Classes will remain cancelled this Monday, March 16th while staff finalizes online instructional materials and plans for students in Grades 3 – 12. PreK-Grade 2 learning materials will be provided to parents in the very near future as well. Informative next steps will be communicated to parents and the community for District learning expectations during this three-week period, early next week. Please know that this directive comes in an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19, also known as the Coronavirus. During such an unprecedented time and set of circumstances, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights City Schools will continue to monitor the matter and communicate with the community updates and important information. We encourage you to visit the District’s COVID-19 Updates and Resources Page.
