Highland Elementary School Celebrates End of Year with Junior Olympics
Highland Junior Olympics

A day full of celebratory, but physically engaging activities took place during the final week of school at Highland Elementary where a schoolwide Junior Olympics day was held for everyone. With all grades participating in the outdoor event, nearly a dozen competitions were planned and prepared with teachers, staff members and parents onlooking. Some of the activities included Australian tag, tug-of-war, volleyball and four-square Newcomb were all included. Representatives from the Metroparks were present to help add an informational resource to the day. Students even had the opportunity to showoff their creative talents by chalk-drawing. As the morning progressed, students advanced from one contest to the next in a station-by-station format so that each grade could participate in each planned activity. In all, Highland hosted a fine and friendly competitive day of activities for their entire student body.
