BBHMS Marks 10th Year of Kick It with the BEES Fundraiser
Kick It with the BEES

For the tenth year in a row, Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School supported children’s cancer research through its annual Kick It with the BEES fundraiser on Thursday, May 30, 2019.  The event was organized by Physical Education teacher Maria Schneider and is part of Kick-It, a program of Alex’s Lemonade Foundation which is a national volunteer driven effort dedicated to raising money for life-saving cancer research.  Students and staff dodged some morning rain drops to play kick-ball games on the football field and enjoyed lunch from a variety of food trucks, which graciously donated a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Kick It with the BEES campaign.

During the afternoon assembly, winners of the Kick It raffle were announced, and students enjoyed live music and fun games.  BBHHS juniors Ricky Pobega, Sylvia Stibley and Lauren Ramer were in attendance to show support for the Kick It Campaign, as all three students have been personally affected by cancer.  Lauren, an ambassador for Alex’s Lemonade Foundation, addressed the entire student body by thanking them for supporting the Kick It campaign and providing a strong reminder that every donation, no matter the amount, has an impact by supporting individuals with cancer and their families.  Fundraising efforts began in April 2019 and involved contributions from students, staff, business sponsors and the entire community.  So far, the 2019 Kick It with the BEES Campaign has raised over $30,000 in total donations!  Thank you to the entire BBHCSD community for supporting the Kick It with the BEES campaign and making a positive difference in the lives of countless families!
