Board of Education Selects New Superintendent

The Brecksville-Broadview Heights City School District’s Board of Education is pleased to announce that it intends to hire Ms. Joelle Magyar as its next Superintendent of Schools.

Ms. Magyar is currently Assistant Superintendent of the Mayfield City Schools and previously held the same position for Brunswick City Schools. She also gained experience as an elementary school Principal. Ms. Magyar received her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Baldwin Wallace College and a Masters in School Administration from Cleveland State University.

The Board’s extensive search process was done in conjunction with educational search firm Finding Leaders. Specific criteria were established following extensive focus sessions with community groups including parents, educators, community and business leaders, and administrators. A large number of potential candidates were reviewed and interviewed and a short list of finalists was then considered based on qualifications and perceived fit in the District.

Board President, Mark Jantzen, commented, “We are pleased and fortunate to be moving forward with Ms. Magyar to bring her aboard as our next Superintendent. She is highly qualified for the position and brings enthusiasm and a wealth of experience gained in other high performing districts.” The hiring process requires formal Board approval, which is expected to occur at the next Board meeting.
