Valuable Community Input Gathered at Recent Meeting

Insights, feedback and overall input were gathered by construction professionals at the most recent Community Meeting hosted at Brecksville-Broadview Heights Middle School earlier this month regarding the exterior design of the new elementary school. Led by the team from ThenDesign Architects (t.d.a.) the meeting also included an introduction of representatives from Shook Construction who will serve as the construction managers for the overall project. A summary of updates on the overall process were shared including the presentation of a sitemap of the Blossom Hill property. Architects used this site map to explain ingress and egress to the Blossom Hill site along with building orientation, student  drop-off and pick-up circulation plans, parking and other top-level concepts. A question and answer component permitted citizens to inquire about various aspects of the project. The remainder of the informative session was devoted to the community providing feedback on various aspects of the external design of the building. Professionals presented a number of examples of façade styles, landscaping elements, natural light, material colors and other design factors to which people responded in written format. Likes, dislikes, hopes and aspirations from the community were recorded with the intent that this feedback would give direction to the designers. Thank you to the individuals who participated in this latest community input meeting and please stay tuned for upcoming meetings in the near future.
