Highland Drive Elementary Meets Fundraiser Goal with Help of Mr. Wasil and Students

Mr. Wasil getting taped to wall

To help Highland Drive Elementary meets its “No Fuss Fundraiser” goal, the Highland Drive Elementary PSO sponsored a creative and fun event on Thursday, October 12, 2017, which provided students the chance to purchase strips of duct tape for one dollar each and use them to tape Media Specialist Mr. Todd Wasil to the wall of the gym! Beginning at 2:15 PM, classrooms began filing into the school gym, as fun, upbeat music played in the background. With the assistance of teachers and PSO members, students were given strips of duct tape purchased earlier in the week, and helped up onto a platform to place the strips of tape over Mr. Wasil. Once finished, the students sat with their teacher to watch and cheer on the other classrooms as they entered the gym to participate in the event. After the final piece of tape was placed, the platform beneath Mr. Wasil’s feet was removed to reveal that he really was taped to the wall! The event was a huge success as it raised approximately $418 and helped Highland Drive reach its fundraising goal of $10,000! Highland Drive Elementary would like to thank all students, Mr. Todd Wasil and the Highland Drive PSO for a successful fundraiser!
