Students have the opportunity to read books from the Accelerated Reader list and take a test on the book in the computer lab, media center, or the classroom. The test measures the students' comprehension.  Books are color-coded by level to help match reading abilities.  The level corresponds to the grade and month of school.

For example, a book at Level 2.1 would be appropriate for a student who reads at a 2nd grade level in about the first month of school.

The spines of Accelerated Reader books have stickers to distinguish the reading level.  Levels are as follows:
