Middle School News

Don’t forget our March PSO meeting will be a joint meeting with Central School and is this Friday, March 12th at 9:30 a.m. in the Middle School Auditorium.  PLEASE NOTE THE DATE CHANGE.  Mr. Farrell will hold a question and answer session and discuss the 5th grade visit to the Middle School.  After the meeting Central parents are welcome to take a tour of the school.  Hope to see you there, if you have any questions please feel free to give me a call.

Orientation for parents of 5th grade students “crossing” into 6th grade will be held at the Middle School on May 18th at 7:00PM. Please note that this date is different from the one in the PSO calendar. We look forward to meeting with you!

 Attention BBHMS Families:

BBHMS has an opportunity to earn money by recycling paper. You can bring your paper, magazines, newspapers, shopping catalogs, and junk mail as well as shredded paper (in a plastic bag please) to the middle school to recycle seven days a week. Our bins are located behind the middle school where you can drive right up and drop off your paper. BBHMS earns $20.00 for each ton we recycle. This money goes directly to our technology fund. The fund is used to purchase technology that all students can use.

We are entering a recycling contest beginning April 1st that lasts the entire month. The school that recycles the most paper will receive double the normal recycling pay scale compensation.

Instead of putting your paper at the curb, why not drop it off at the middle school and earn dollars for your children. There are 4 bins behind the middle school. Three of these bins (the three closest to the H.S.) belong to the middle school and the other belongs to the high school. Why not help the environment and earn money at the same time.

Thank you for your support of this important fund raising effort.

A Career Day has been planned for the  6th Grade on April 30. We will have speakers during the first two periods of the day. All 6th grade students have received the volunteer form to take home .

The Ohio Achievement Assessment (OAA) will be administered to all Middle School students the week of April 26th.

  • 4/26 - Reading - all grades
  • 4/28 - Math        - all grades
  • 4/30 - Science  - 8th grade only

Please be sure your student is rested, has a good breakfast, and is on time to school testing week.  Students that are tardy will not be able to enter the classroom once the test begins.  Students that are absent or miss the test will be given a make-up. Please try to schedule vacations and necessary appointments for your student on non testing days.

The results will not be available before school is out for the summer.

Thank you for your assistance in giving your student the best possible opportunity to be successful on the OAA.
