Chippewa School News

We would like to remind our Chippewa families of the upcoming Waiver Day.

There is no school for students on Monday, September 20.

Staff will be involved in Professional Development that day throughout the District.

Three happy campers waiting to go see their teacher for kindergarten phase-in.  Half the students came in on  Wednesday for a short orientation with their parents and the other half come in on Thursday.  Friday will be their first full session.

The Board of Education took the final step to place a 5.8 mill operating levy on the November 2010 ballot at their July 8, 2010 meeting. The term of this levy is for a  five-year period.

The District has worked aggressively to cut costs by implementing reductions in staff, programs, and services over the past two years and will continue to do so. However, the approximate $3 million annual savings generated by these cuts is not enough to eliminate the need for additional operating funds. The District has not received an increase in operating funds for the past six years. The last time a new levy was approved by voters was in August 2004

Our school has the opportunity to earn money by recycling paper. You can bring your paper, magazines, newspapers, shopping catalogs, and junk mail as well as shredded paper to Chippewa school to recycle seven days a week. Our bin is located in front of the building to the right of our driveway.  We receive $20.00 for each ton collected.
