H.U.D.D.L.E.
Project Title & Goals
H.U.D.D.L.E. (Helping us Develop Dedication, Leadership and Enthusiasm) is a peer support and leadership group in which high school students participate in school and community based activities promoting positive decision making, while increasing their own knowledge and resistance skills. Students are nominated by faculty members and have to fill out an application to be considered for membership. The also must pledge to be alcohol, tobacco and drug free.
Goals:
A main goal of H.U.D.D.L.E. is the peer to peer mentoring program for all 6th and 8th grade students at the middle school. H.U.D.D.L.E. members facilitate an eight lesson program that will occur monthly throughout the school year. The lessons are 45 minutes in length and focus on improving social skills and educating the younger students on the dangers of alcohol, tobacco and other drugs. Currently, H.U.D.D.L.E. is comprised of ninety members who are scheduling lessons in twenty-nine middle school classrooms.
The HUDDLE program is overseen by CAPA coordinator Kelly Lazar.
