Projects
Over the years, the Bee Athletic Boosters have sponsored or been involved in a
wide variety of projects supporting the athletic programs at the
Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School and Middle School.
These include additions and improvements to facilities, equipment and uniform
purchases, tournament and participation fees, and awards and recognition
ceremonies.
A few of the more recent major projects for the Bee Athletic Boosters are
listed below.
- Bee Athletic Center
- The Athletic Boosters raised the funds and built a new, state-of-the-art
5800 square feet sports facility, including locker rooms, training room,
conference room, and coaches areas, for use by the high school football,
soccer, and baseball teams.
The Bee Athletic Center was formally dedicated on August 1, 2002.
- Cross-Country Course
- In 2002, the Athletic Boosters began construction of a new
cross-country course, located on the Mill Road campus covering Hilton
Elementary, the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Board of Education, and
the High School and Middle School grounds.
Opened in May, 2003, the new course is the site of the annual
Bruce Lerch Bees Invitational, and host for the Pioneer
Conference High School Championships in 2003, and the Southwest
Conference High School Championships in 2005.
- Picnic Pavilion
- In conjunction with area Boy Scout troops, the Boosters built
a multi-use picnic pavilion near the high school athletic fields.
- Track Storage Building
- This badly-needed facility is used to store pole vaulting pits,
hurdles, and other track equipment.
- Track Resurfacing
- The addition of the modern all-weather track at the High School was
funded by the Athletic Boosters.
- Baseball and Softball Fields
- The Athletic Boosters have funded extensive additions
to both the baseball and softball facilities, including fencing, batting
cages, and drainage improvements.
- Weight Room
- The Boosters have provided well over $20,000 in equipment for the
weight room, used by athletes in several sports.
Other acquisitions funded by the Athletic Boosters include half the cost of the
football/soccer scoreboard, improvements to the ticket booth, soccer goals,
a tennis practice wall and spectator benches, wrestling mats, the swimming timing
system, and audio/visual equipment.
The wide scope of the activities for the Bee Athletic Boosters is apparent
from the following table listing the

specific items purchased, and the total amount donated from 1995 through 2002.
