Bee Athletic Boosters Minutes

Present at meeting:
Joan & Jim Tricomi, Larry Zgrabik, Mark Wirkus, Cliff Eggleton, Marcia Cline, Karen Ryba, Bruce & Ellen Noggle, Steve Zamaria, Mike Terry, Charlie Towne, Jane Bowditch, Denyse Sturgeon, Frank & Joyce Pushpak, Charmagne Cimaglia, Bruce Trippet, Larry Cox, Maria Schneider, Joe Kosek, Karen Ryan, Doug Geib, & Lori Donner.
Secretary's Report:
A motion to accept the minutes of February 7, 2005 meeting was made and seconded.
The minutes were accepted.
Membership Report:
Joe would like a breakdown of members for the next meeting to see how membership stands.
Treasurer's Report:
As of 3/7/05 $20,000 was uncommitted. Pledges come due in May with $15,000 in pledges. See attached sheet.
Committee Reports:
Reverse Raffle:
As of tonight there is a waiting list. Money is being collected. March 8, Lori will be checking with the hall and ordering food. Balloons, labels, table tickets and board numbers are being set up.
Silent Auction:
New items are still coming in. Ninety plus items and board certs are in now. We have a ride on the Goodyear Blimp and tickets for Cavs Courtside vs NJ Nets for the live auction. The silent auction is on the Website. Jim Tricomi sold 49 ads for the program -$4,700 plus net. Mike Marhefka is setting up the program for us.
Team Reps:
- Gymnastics - Girls won Sectionals Feb. 19th, Districts Feb 26th and State Champs March 4th, second year in a row with New State Meet Record. Eight girls qualified for individual competition in 20 events-9 Place winners!
- Swimming - Girls took 1st in PC and advanced to State meet. Boys took 1st in PC.
- Wrestling - Four kids went to districts and one placed. They will be having a Night at the Races on May 6th. Middle School tournament had 400 wrestlers. Two of our boys qualified for Kent this weekend.
Allocation Requests:
Girls basketball coach is requesting The Gun by Shoot A Way. The cost is $4200.
Boys volleyball club is requesting $300 to defray ref costs for 4 home matches.
Athletic Director Reports:
Middle School:
Maria Schneider reported Dance team will have tryouts. Cheerleading will follow. We need to get the Middle School involved in BAB earlier.
Other Business:
High School Winter Sports Awards is Wed. March 9th.
Southwest Conference is charging more for admissions.
50/50 raffle tickets for football and basketball netted about $5,500.
Old Stadium property - Sam & Anita Sidoti, Joyce & Frank Pushpak, Heidi Means, Joe Kosek, Bob Gearhart & Doug Geib met with Brecksville. The schools and Brecksville are not on the same page. Schools have deed. Brecksville wants control with cost of about $1 million. Brecksville wants to knock down existing locker room and move to far end zone, open new bleachers & baseball diamond, smaller fields for T-ball with lights, fix basketball courts, light football field and have track put in. Everything is at a standstill.
